Applications in steel construction

The Hydraulic 801 is a hydraulic punching machine for cold punching of flat steel, angle steel and other sections. With its higher press force it is also suited to heavier material cross-sections and larger hole diameters when preparing gusset plates, splice plates and connection parts.

Frequently asked questions

When is a heavier punching machine worthwhile?

Greater material thicknesses and larger hole diameters require more press force, since this rises with plate thickness and hole diameter. A more powerful punch extends the usable range of cross-sections and tools compared with smaller machines.

Can angle steel be punched with this machine?

Yes, with the appropriate support and tooling, angle steel can be punched in the web or flange area. The sections that can actually be machined depend on the support, the throat depth and the tooling fitted.

Does the position need to be marked out before punching?

For single holes the position is marked out or set via a stop. For recurring hole spacings, longitudinal and side stops allow reproducible setting without marking out each hole again.
