Applications in steel construction

The Peddinghaus rebar bender is used for bending and forming reinforcing steel directly on site or in the workshop. It lets you form angles, hooks and bends on round and reinforcing bar by hand, without a stationary bending machine.

Typical applications

  • Bending hooks and end anchors on reinforcing bars
  • Producing bends and angles according to the reinforcement drawing
  • Bending round bar for stirrups and anchorages
  • Reworking and straightening reinforcing steel directly at the installation point
  • On-site adjustment of individual bars without transport to a stationary machine

Which businesses use it

Used in reinforced concrete and civil engineering, by reinforcement contractors, steel fixers, construction site facilities and metalworking shops.

Frequently asked questions

What is a manual rebar bender suitable for?

It is suitable for bending individual reinforcing bars directly at the installation point, for example to produce hooks, bends and angles. For this kind of reworking and smaller quantities, a hand bender is more flexible and location-independent than a stationary bending machine.

How does bending reinforcing steel differ from bending profiles?

Reinforcing steel is ribbed round bar that is bent to defined bending angles and mandrel diameters according to the reinforcement drawing, in order to ensure the concrete cover and anchorage. Bending profiles or flat bar, by contrast, follows structural specifications from steel construction and requires different tool geometries.
