High-quality rebar shearing machines for the building industry.
Applications in steel construction
The Peddinghaus rebar shear is a manually operated shear for cutting concrete steel and reinforcing steel to length. It cuts ribbed steel and reinforcing bars directly on site or in the bending shop without power and without flying sparks. This allows reinforcing bars to be quickly brought to the required size.
Typical applications
- Cutting concrete steel and reinforcing bars to size
- Cutting ribbed steel for reinforcement cages and mats
- Adjusting reinforcing bars directly on site
- Cutting single bars in the bending shop without a cut-off wheel
- Power-independent working at locations without a mains connection
Which businesses use it
Used in reinforced concrete construction, by reinforcement firms, in building and civil engineering as well as in bar-bending shops.
Frequently asked questions
What is a rebar shear used for?
It serves to cut concrete steel or reinforcing steel to the required size. Ribbed steel is thus cut for reinforcement cages, mats and connections, without the need for a powered cutting machine.
Why shear instead of using an angle grinder on reinforcing steel?
Shearing cuts the bar cold without flying sparks and without material loss from a kerf. On site this is possible independently of power and avoids the fire hazard from sparks of the cut-off wheel.
Which bar diameter can be cut?
The maximum cuttable diameter depends on the strength of the reinforcing steel and the design of the shear. Within this range single bars are cut cleanly to length; for thicker bars or several bars at once, stronger devices are intended.
