All capacities refer to material with a tensile strength of 450 N/mm2. We reserve the right to make design alterations without notice.
Particularly rugged machine frame of tempered steel. Special frame design guarantees trouble-free feeding of the material.
The operator has a clear view over the full blade length enabling work to be carried out on layouted plate.
Applications in steel construction
The Peddinghaus long-blade sheet and round steel shear is a manually operated shear for cutting sheet metal and round steel. The continuous long blade allows even longer cuts in sheet to be guided cleanly, while the round steel seat handles cutting bars to length. In the workshop it replaces manual cutting with a saw or cut-off wheel for smaller cross-sections.
Typical applications
- Cutting sheet panels and sheet strips to size
- Cutting round steel and bar steel to length
- Trimming and adjusting sheet edges in the locksmith's shop
- Cutting material for railing, gate and grille construction
- Cutting without flying sparks and without scaling of the cut edge
Which businesses use it
Used in locksmithing, metal fabrication, structural steelwork and steel trade for workshop-level cutting of sheet and bar steel.
Frequently asked questions
What does the long blade offer compared to a short shear?
The continuous long blade allows longer, continuous cuts in sheet with even cut guidance. Short lever shears are intended more for localized separations, whereas the long blade lets whole sheet strips be cut to length more cleanly.
Can the shear cut both sheet and round steel?
Yes, it combines a sheet cutting edge with a separate seat for round steel. This allows sheet panels and round bars to be cut to length with the same tool, each in the area of the blades intended for it.
Why shear instead of using an angle grinder?
Shearing produces a cold cut edge without flying sparks, without scaling and without material loss from a kerf. This is cleaner and often more advantageous for subsequent processing than cutting with a cut-off wheel.
